Founded in 1973, the William J. Moore Scholarship Foundation honors the legacy of William J. Moore, a legendary educator who, during the days of legal segregation, provided a half-century of exemplary leadership to West Cape May’s School for African American students commonly known as the Annex. Initially established to provide scholarships for financially challenged African American students in Cape May, West Cape May, and the surrounding communities who desired to pursue higher education opportunities, the foundation now awards scholarships for financially challenged high school seniors throughout Cape May County.
